Cubenen Gardens: Befriend is a story-driven indie RPG created with RPG Maker MZ.
The Gardens is a world inhabited by cartoon animals and friendly cube people known as cubenen. This city is separated into seven districts, atop a concrete island, in a sea of ink.
This world is also home to hostile monsters, abstract and strange in design. They manifest where hope has been lost, and terrorize citizens.

This is not Michael's first outing at H.T.I., but it will likely be their last.
For 2025, I'm doing something funny and submitting just Chapter 7. You will be given little to no story context to what's going on, though you will be given directions on what to do, so don't worry too much about being lost. Just sit back and enjoy the writing and combat!
On top of it being comedic to submit just a late-game part of the adventure to an event, this chapter also features a pretty ambitious dungeon I would like more feedback on. I'd greatly appreciate you all giving me your thoughts on the sodden and corrupted Locker Room for when I might design large-scale dungeons like this in future games!
Stay tuned for next year for hopefully a demo for a new original project. Set in the same world, but a few years prior, in a new district, and with a new protagonist.
