Alex Kidd and the Miracle Gems

Forum for submitting game booths for Chao Games Showcase 2025. Deadline for game booth submission is October 25th!
Forum rules
IMPORTANT
For those submitting a demo booth to either event this November you must also submit the promotional material form. Failing to do so may result in your booth being rejected after the submission deadline.

Submission guidelines
- Projects considered by staff to be asset flipped are not permitted. This does not apply to kit bashing.
- Projects must be submitted by the teams who developed them. Projects which have been submitted without developer involvement will be considered stolen and will removed.
- Plagiarised projects will be removed.
- Please avoid submitting rom hacks which do not significantly alter the base game and if so please submit them as a patch for the base game.
- The contents of your submission should be safe for work. projects depicting hate speech, or sexual content will be removed.
- Scratch and Roblox games are not permitted.
- Do not submit spite projects.

We all know Sonic got reinvented for the Dreamcast era. Have you ever wondered what Alex Kidd might have been like if it had been reinvented for the Sonic era? Alex Kidd and the Miracle Gems explores this "what if" with a Genesis-styled Alex Kidd fangame with all the speed and action of Sonic. Alex Kidd and the Miracle Gems is a loose sequel to Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars, with other nods to the Alex Kidd series and classic SEGA throughout.



"Years ago, our heroes Alex and Stella set out to find the Miracle Gems and return the stars to the Aries sky. But when the evil Janken the Great, freed from petrification, discovers the power of the stars contained within the Miracle Gems, he seeks revenge and returns, far more powerful than before, to take the kingdom of Radaxian by force. It's up to Alex Kidd, Stella, and Prince Egle to save Radaxian and return the stars to the Aries sky once again."

This is the first public demo of the game, and includes:
  • a tutorial zone (Training Tower),
  • the first four full zones (Miracle Mount, Shinobi Seaport, Pit Pot Parlor, and Dusty Desert),
  • three playable characters (Alex, Stella, and Prince Egle)
  • original Genesis remixes of music from the Alex Kidd series and other classic SEGA games
  • a working map for zone selection
  • story cutscenes!
